Dear Verna,
Karen and I are so very sorry to hear of Dean's sudden passing and your loss. Dean was one of the kindest, gentlest, and most cheerful people we have ever known. He seemed always to care the most about how we were doing, and whether he could be helpful, and never about what we could do for him. His behavior is a model and a standard that I know I haven't reached, but will continue to strive for, as one small way to remember and honor his example. His love and pride in you and the boys was a constant for him, and I think part of what gave him the ability to think of and care for others. We're sorry we won't be there this week, but you have our earnest hope for wonderful and sustaining memories in the days ahead. Please please let us know if we can do anything that might be helpful.
Love to all of you,

Walks on the beach during a church retreat, the sparkle in eyes when showing us the "new" old car, our children sharing birthday parties, trying to cut up a watermelon on one of our hikes without a knife,an assortment of "pets", fishing trips and was it "potato" or potatoe", so much more... Verna, David,Steven...you will always be a part of our lives and Dean will be there too in our memories.

Dear Vera, Steve, and Dave,
My heart is filled with sadness at your loss. I cannot even imagine what you're going through and my heart is heavy just thinking about the grief that it is causing your family.
I have only the best of memories of your father. He was obviously a wonderful father, husband and friend to many. I have valued his kindness and thoughtfulness. His passing will leave a great void in the hearts of all of us who were fortunate enough to have know him.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
With love,
Janine Stroemer
