Elizabeth Piucci Obituary

May 19, 1925 - December 15, 2015 Elizabeth Anne Logan Piucci died peacefully at her home in Naperville, IL on the 15th of December. She was 86. Betty was born in Hackensack„ NJ to George Thomas Logan and Grace Rogers Logan of Dumont. Her brother, George Thomas Logan Jr., preceded her in death. She lived in Illinois since 1971 and in Naperville since 2006. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 63 years, Virginio Piucci, who passed in 2014. She is survived by her beloved sons Stephen of Portland OR, Mark of Phoenix AZ, Matthew of Oakland CA, Andrew of Gainesville GA and Anthony of Naperville. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law Melissa Powers, Stefanie Beltran, Michele Mayfield and Mary McDonnell and her six grandchildren, Joseph, Nalani Ochoa (and her husband Alain), Chiara, Nicholas, Andrew and Mira, and by the children of her beloved brother Tom and her sister-in-law Dorothy Dutcher Logan-Donald, Robert and Elizabeth (Edwards) Logan, as well as her nephew and niece Robert and Nancy (Susi) Piucci. Betty had a profound interest in the welfare of children, as she was an elementary school educator her entire life, and deeply devoted to her own children. She received a bachelor degree from SUNY New Paltz and returned to school (with five children) to receive a Masters in Elementary Education from Rhode Island College. She taught Kindergarten for 35 years, including Head Start in Providence, RI and at Katz Corner in Sauk Village, IL. She loved music and sang in the choir at St. Lawrence O'Toole in Matteson, IL. Betty spent the last year of her life visiting the places and people she loved, travelling to Portland and the coast of Oregon twice, to Phoenix' beautiful desert, to the Hudson River Valley she loved so much and to Vail, Colorado, all to visit her cherished friends and family. She was surrounded by her dear friends from the neighborhood and her family in her last weeks at home. There are no services pending and the family will take her remains back to her family plot in Stony Point, NY, where her ashes will be buried, along with those of her beloved husband Virginio. Should friends desire to pay tribute in any way, please donate to your local food bank. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Illinois.

So deeply saddened at Betty's passing. Both she and Virg will be truly missed around the circle.

Betty always had a tasty biscuit at hand for my dog, Watson, who quickly learned to look Betty's way to see if her garage door was open for a visit. We so enjoyed those routine visits. One of the kindest ladies I've known.
