George Essig Obituary

George L. Essig, age 84, precious husband of Mary; loving father of Anne (Jim) Matteoni, Kathleen (Tom) Martinek, George (Theresa) Essig, Stephen (Patricia) Essig, Martin (Eileen) Essig, Jane (Mark) Schoomaker, Julia (Luis) Garza and Mary (Mark) White; 27 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; dear brother of the late Esther Marie Essig, Shirley Winston, Gladys Barnes, Raymond and Wilfrid Essig. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Patrick Church, 408 Cedar St., St. Charles. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles, where a liturgical wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Essig's memory may be made to The Jesuit Community of Loyola University, 6525 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago, IL 60626, Huntington's Disease Society of America, Generation 2000 Campaign, 158 W. 29th St., New York, NY 10011-5300, or to DuPage PADS, 705 W. Liberty, Wheaton, IL 60187. Dad: What a legacy you left behind. The funeral/wake and cemetery procession were all a testimony to how much you were loved by so many. I think of you so often throughout the day and miss you so much. Thank goodness we have a deep faith and great family to support one another..Keep in touch..Love Mart(son)
