Harriet Green Alter, 97, died at home in Highland Park on Friday, July 20, 2007, wife of the late Irving; mother of Marjorie (Mona Hansen) Hart, the late Robert (Barbara) Alter and the late John Alter; proud grandmother of Jay (Leslie) Alter, Michael (Sarah) Alter, Alison (Jeremi Suri) Alter, Daniel (Carol) McGuire and Shoshana (Vivian Tillman) Helman; doting great-grandmother of Will, Tom, Cate, Emma, Nathaniel, Eli, Natalie and Zachary; sister of the late A. Rodger Green, Ruth Rice, Robert Green, Bernice Freeman Schulman and Claire Edwards; beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Private services were held at Shalom Memorial Park, Arlington Heights.
