15 years and still hurts but am blessed by the friendship that has evolved with all your buddies since you passed. You were so loved by that great group of guys who are still close 66 years after ETHS. Always with tears when I think of you!!

Boss man Howard, Think of you often. Big cigars, Cashmere sweaters, First to have a big Phone that must of weighed 10 pounds and every call was over a dollar a minute.Big steaks with potatoes with sour cream. You were a good roommate . Fun times growing up in Skokie and Evanston and then out to L. A. Miss you Boss Michael Gold

It is ashamed that Howard (The Boss) cannot join us on our bi-monthly zoom meetings where his high school friends get together and talk about our past experiences and our families. Howard was always a big part of our group not only from high school but also in Los Angeles and the adventures of the Boss are still a topic. I am in contact with his younger brother, Sherwin (Jay) and thank him for keeping Howard's memory alive.

Hard to believe you are gone 11 years tomorrow and your nephew Brett and my buddy Bruce are with you... and I am now 75 years old. So wish I could talk to you about our childhood and so much you knew that I still don’t know!!

Time marches on & our memories of Howard aka as "The Boss" live on. Let's keep Howard's memory alive and share a few more stories about our late friend. Back in the day, Howard was the man. I still remember him driving his Mother's Lincoln convertible with a cigar in his mouth. He was always immaculately groomed and well dressed.

I lost touch with the Boss after high school, but he was certainly a big part of our gang. I remember one incident that was kind of funny. One summer Howie grew a beard(a very nice beard). When he went back to school they made him shave it off.

As the years went on we missed having Howard being an active participant in the society of the Skokie/Evanston ETHS boys and we thank Michael Gold for his many efforts to bring him back into the fold. I believe I speak for all the boys that the bosses presence has and will continue to remain with us. We thank him for his contribution to our sense of fellowship, especially during those most formative years in which we shared so much. I will always remember his unique style, wonderful smile and warm embrace.

I miss you. Your friends and co workers sure thought the world of you. Can't believe you are gone much less that a year has now passed. At least you will now be available forever in cyberspace thru legacy.com.

BTW, I spoke with Sheldon Cord. He was blown away at your passing and insists I see him when I am in Chicago. He as all the others thought so much of you. With tears, Sherwin

Hi Boss:

Time passes too quickly. I have the most pleasant memories of you when we were high school chums and in the early college years. Boss, wherever you are; I wish only the best for you and your family.

I got to know Howard in the State's Attorney's Office in the 90s. He was a true gentleman, a salt-of-the-earth kind of guy as I knew him. He always had a kind word and a smile on his face. I would occasionally bump into him at the Daley Center, as you could not miss his head of hair, which was second to none. I am truly sorry about his passing.

Howard, You will be missed. Just a few days before he passed on Bob and myself tried calling him. Howard was very private and all the boys who grew up with him tried to keep intouch with him, but it was hard.We called him the boss because of his cigars and his big smile.Michael---Thoughts to his girlfriend and the rest of the family

I knew Howard in High School and he shared an apartment in Los Angeles along with Michael Gold, Roy Finkel, Rusty Pallas, and Glenn Gilbert. We all went to Evanston Twp. High School and we have many stories to share. We used to call Howard "The Boss", "The Roller", and sometime the "Chairman of the Board". He liked the finer things in life which were unattainable during that period of our lives. He always had a nice haircut, kept his nails immaculate, wore casmere sweaters, and drove a new 61 Oldsmobile. He also liked expensive cigars and Chevas Regal scotch. Howard is the first to pass from our group of High School friends and he will be missed by all. The stories will remain for the rest of us to reminisce.

My deepest condolences to Howard's family, he was truly one of a kind and will be missed. I worked directly with Howard in the same department, and I will miss him very much. He always brought a sense of life and fun to our office. Howard was always smiling, and always had a historical trivia question at the ready for us. He had an impressive wealth of knowledge, and by all accounts lead a great life. Although he is in a better place now, he was taken from us way too soon. May his memory be eternal.

May our God comfort your hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I will truly miss Howard, especially at the Cook County states attorney office. He always had a smile and words of wisdom.
