To the best Grandfather in the world, I love you. I have such fond memories of you as a child. Such a large part of my life has always had you in it. I will never forget how excited I use to get going to florida, knowing I could spend time with you and grandma. While you may not know it you taught me just how much a man can endure. I hope one day I can be half the father, husband, grandfather, and person you lived as. I hope to one day have children of my own so that I may tell them the stories that fill my heart with love and joy you filled it with. Stories of playing cards, going to the pool, and the crazy card tricks you use to show me as a young boy. You are my grandfather, gramps, JB. For all that you gave me thank you, for all that you left behind I will forever cherish in my heart. I leave this poem for you because to me...you will never be gone:
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
I love you JB. See you late.
