For my friend Jim
Koob Kids

My sisters and I were saddened to hear about the loss of Jim. "Jimbo" as we knew him as kids, babysat us several times throughout our adolescence and we have many fond memories of his time with us. He was our favorite babysitter - it was easy to convince him that our parents would be OK letting us watch movies like "Aliens" and TV series like Stephen King´s "It." Even though we would remain afraid of the dark until well into our 30s, we were always excited when Jimbo was coming over.
Among us kids Jimbo was a legend. Our dad used to tell us the story of Jim´s injury at a WJE softball game, each time the tale becoming more exaggerated. The final version we heard was he ran for a foul ball and caught it (naturally) about the same time his face caught the sharp edge of a street sign. He received over 100 stitches and returned in time to homer in the final inning for the win! It is no wonder we felt like we were sitting with the Great Bambino when he took us to our first White Sox game at "New Comiskey."
Jimbo, thank you for the childhood memories and making our time with you so enjoyable.
