James M. Greene, age 87, of Riverside, Army Veteran Korean War. Beloved husband of 63 years to Margaret M. Greene, nee Hefferon; fond father of Kathleen (John) Zydek and Mary (Ken) Mottet; dear grandfather of Christopher Schultz; great grandfather of Tyler; dear brother of Barbara Greene, uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday, November 6, 2016, 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Monday, November 7, 2016, 10:00 A.M. to Time of Service 10:30 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd. 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Past Commander, Ted Knusman Amvets Post 13 - Past Commander Veterans Assistance Commission of Cook County - Past Commander Combined Veterans Association of Illinois - devoted 55 year volunteer at Hines Veterans Hospital in Maywood. Past President St. Thomas Aquinas School Board (Austin neighborhood Chicago) 65 year member local 134 IBEW (and past Shop Steward) Recipient of CVA "Person of the Year" Award. Recipient of Illinois Amvet of the Year Award. Recipient of Four Chaplains Award. Medal of Service and Valor presented during South Korea revisit in 1986. Survived by many valiant American Veteran Brothers (and Sisters) in arms. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Fisher House at Hines Hospital Maywood, IL.
