Jerry was a work colleague. I think of him often and am sorry to have not known of his passing, for which I send my much belated condolences to his family. Jerry was an inspiring, highly intelligent, and interesting man. We would talk every day and he would share his many stories from his WWII military time and various life experiences. He would give me an FDA "word of the day" to master, it was great fun. He was such a ray of sunshine to my day.

We had a few great moments. Although not a lawyer, he was so good at making the application of Food and Drug Law easy and adaptable to complex situations. He taught me a lot down through the years!

I miss you Jerry. When you were Director of Compliance you made my job worth while. As a public affairs officer at that time you inspired me with your knowledge and expertise in winning cases for our District. You will always be remembered as respectful, having an abundance of FDA knowledge and fair to all. God be with you Jerry.

I think about Jerry often. He was such a great asset to the Food and Drug Administration. I didn't work with him directly but occasionally had to interact with him on recalls, etc for media work. He was our Director of Compliance. Always with loving memories of Jerry.

Jerry was a great mentor, friend and supervisor during the time I worked directly with him (1967 to 1972) and after I left Chicago. For all the years I spent in FDA (1962-1998) I could rely on Jerry for his wisdom in FDA matters and his wit in the good times and the difficult times. He will be missed.

Hello to Jerry's Family
Jerry was my first supervisor when I started with FDA. It was always interesting to hear his stories about the war he served, the wall street journal articles he read, the stock markets influences, and the many important areas of his life.
While working with Jerry I found him to be a historian of the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act especially because of his dedication to the mission of the Food and Drug Administration. He believed in the mission of the agency and worked diligently to protect the American consumer. Because of his dedication he became a mentor for many employees. You could always go to him for advice regarding the FD&C Act. He never tired. He would be in his office working when most were gone in the evening.
I will miss Jerry and will always remember his dedication, enthusiasm, and his strong drive to protection the American consumer.
