Joan Peters Caro, nee Friedman, age 78, best selling author of From Time Immemorial: The Origins of the Arab-Jewish Conflict Over Palestine; beloved wife of William A. Caro, MD and the late Stanley A. Kaplan; loving mother of Lori Peters; cherished stepmother of Mark (Mary Dixon) and David Caro; adored grandmother of Ruth and Madeline; dear sister of Barry (Rhonda) Friedman; treasured aunt of Tracy (Eric) Dobmeier, Carrie Friedman and great aunt of Ben, Matt and Nathan; devoted friend to many. Service Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at Anshe Emet Synagogue, 3751 N. Broadway St., Chicago, IL 60613. Interment Waldheim Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Anshe Emet Synagogue. I was deeply saddened to learn of Joan's passing. I remember her as a very passionate individual with a strong support of Israel. She was honest, consistent and respectful of others. She was always kind to me. She will be dearly missed.
