John "JC" Cox

John "JC" Cox, a.k.a. "Pops", 53, of Zion, died on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at home. He was born July 29, 1955 in Sycamore, IL and was a lifelong resident of the Waukegan/Zion area. He Graduated from Waukegan High School in 1973. For 25 years he worked in the area in HVACR. John was very mechanically inclined in many different fields. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Survivors include his four sons, Jerry (Sherie) McPherson of Beach Park, Michael Cox of Waukegan, Jake (Bonnie) Cox, and Jason (Judy) Cox of Kenosha; eight grandchildren, Ashly, Garrett and Brian McPherson, Andrew Cox, Kayla and Alyssa Cox, and Emily and Christina Cox; one sister, Carolyn Holland of Zion; one brother, Kevin (Linda) Cox of Arkansas; and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Graham; and his parents, James and Bonnie Cox. A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2009, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Winthrop Harbor, 600 College Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096.
