John Grotts Obituary

Dr. John H. Grotts, 79, of Lake Forest, Chief of Radiology at Highland Park Hospital for many years, and Veteran of the Korean War, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2003. Beloved husband of Geraldine; loving father of Patty (Dan) Kelly, James Grotts and Robert Grotts and William Grotts; dear grandfather to Laura and Rose Kelly and John and Amy Grotts; loving brother to Bruce (Marge) Grotts. Memorial Service 11 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2003, at St. Patrick's Church, 991 Waukegan Rd., Lake Forest, IL. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery in Lake Forest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northhampton, MA 01061-0515. My family feels great sorrow at the passing of Dr. Grotts. Our travels to the Chicagoland area have always included visits to the Grotts family home, where we were welcomed by Dr. Grotts. He was a tremendous person and a source of happiness in our lives. With prayers for the Grotts family...

I'll miss John's visits to Minnesota and our conversations at long, noisy dinner tables, in crowded school hallways and across various cluttered coffee tables. He was a kind and interesting man.
