JOHN KATSAFAROS Obituary
John K. Katsafaros, passed away Feb. 22, 2010 at the age of 70. Born in Karies, Chios, Greece, beloved husband for 40 years of Magdalina, nee Dededimos; loving father of Olivia (Ben) Craig; devoted son of the late Konstantinos and Olga Katsafaros; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. John was a devoted and philanthropic supporter of Arvanitissa Church in Karies, Chios, Greece, owner of Alexander's Restaurant in Chicago for 41 years and a devoted member of the Karies Society. Visitation Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Friday morning at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements by John G. Adinamis Funeral Director, Ltd. 773-736-3833.

So very sad. Just heard the news (2-27-10.) John was a very kind, generous man. Everyone's friend. Our condolences to his family. We will never forget him.

Amazing, Kind, Intelligent, Funny, Generous, and was always there for EVERYONE no matter what! Definitely a philanthropist! A man that always told people how much he cared and loved them! He will certainly be missed by many!
