We played Park and Rec. football together when his Dad was the coach...WAY Back. My family moved and then John and I briefly reacquainted in High School...long time gone. Was trolling websites today and saw the notice and my condolences to you Mary and your family...too late but not forgotten. Simply, I liked John...may you RIP!

They say you die twice, once when your physical body leaves this earth and the second time when people forget you. John, with all you did for your community and more importantly your family, you are going to live a LONG TIME my friend. Peace

Dear Mary and family -- While I didn't have the pleasure of knowing John as well as I would have liked, I knew that you, Mary, and John raised a beautiful and loving family. My deepest sympathy on your loss and my heartfelt prayers for you in your grief. May Our Lord welcome John to his heavenly home!

Yena Family,
First, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I hope that your grief will soon be replaced with fond memories and laughter. To say I was saddened to hear this news would be an understatement. Your Dad was, by far, the BEST, in so many ways. Through my years at SJC your father took a special liking to me as a player and person. In my high school years, he allowed me to be one of, I believe, a very few to be his assistant and B team coach for SJC 7th grade bball. It was such fun and an honor. He was the best coach and person. I learned so many valuable life lessons from the great MAN he was. I will never forget car rides home after games and practices. Times when he would start laughing and not stop...Playing for your Dad was the the best! By far my favorite coach ever. So knowledgeable, so stoic, so generous with his time and talents. Can´t wait to play in a game that he coaches, on the carpeted gym in heaven. May god bless his soul and give my best to you all!
