Dear Dad:
You gave, so we would learn how to give; you held us, so we would learn how to hold others; you listened, so we would learn how to talk; you wept, so we would know it was ok to cry; you prayed, so we might believe in Him; you gave, so that we learned how to receive; you laughed, so that we would feel good; you kept your promises, so we could learn to trust; you loved, so that we could live.
On this, the first anniversary of your leaving us, you would be proud to know how well all of your nine children have supported each other in their time of need. We miss you and Mom more than you will ever know and until we meet again, know that we love you and think of you both daily.
Your beloved children,
Joe, Jim, Sheila, Marty, Brian, Dave, Tim, Mary Ann and Michelle.

Dear Dad - while a young running back at the University of Kansas in the early 1960's, former Chicago Bears star Gale Sayers was in the office of his head coach and he saw a plaque that read simply "I AM THIRD." Sayers asked the coach what it meant.
The coach replied, "It means God is first, my family is second and I am third."
Dad, on this, the eve of your birthday, we can all look far and wide to those living and those who have gone before us and I don't think we'll ever find another human being who epitomized this phrase more than you, our beloved father, who left us all too soon.
And though our hearts are broken and we feel still as if we are suffering from a wound that will never heal, we know that because of your loving example of being third, while placing your God and your family before you, you will remain with us always...
We love you; pls say hello to Mom who preceeded you in death by a mere 97 days and tell here we miss her too, more than we can say...
Signed: Your son Marty & family

Dear Family, I admired Ma and Papa B more than anyone I have ever known. They represent all that Jesus asked us to be here on earth. I know that they are together, with our Father in heaven. Love Debbie
