Joseph P. Pecoraro, retired C.P.D., and retired President of Chicago Patrolmens Association and Director and Founder of American Police Center and Museum. Beloved husband and friend of Catherine "Kay", nee Pascente' loving father of Giacomo "Jack" Ret. C.P.D. (Linda), Anthony "Tony" Ret. C.P.D. (Sgt. Dawn C.P.D.), Frances (Laurence) Higgins, and the late Rosalie; beloved son of the late Giacomo and Rosalia Pecoraro; dear grandfather of 13; great-grandfather of seven; dear brother of Sarah (the late Andrew) Johnston, Vito (Adele), and the late Vincent (Angeline) Pecoraro; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; fond brother-in-law to the late Rocco (Margie), Carmen (Florence), William (Adeline), John (Josephine), and Ruth (Frank) De Nardo. Funeral Monday 9:30 a.m. from Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home and Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave. (2 miles W. of Harlem Ave. on 79th St.) Justice, IL, to St. Symphorosa Church, Mass 10:30 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Garden Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Parkinson Disease Association will be deeply appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2 to 9 p.m. 708-496-0200. I am very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I haven't seen Joe for a very long time as I moved to Florida after my husband (Don Barnes retired CPD) and I moved to Florida in 1998. I was a business associate of Joes and a friend and he is one of the nicest men I know. I am sorry I could not be there to pay my last respects.

Aunt Kay and kids: Your Dad was always my favorite 'uncle/cousin'. He always took the time to talk and catch up when I sought him out at family functions. I'll miss him if not for that alone. If I can't make it to see you, please know I'll have you in my thoughts. Vita always had the right words, and I never do, but take care of each other and especially your Mother. Aunt Kay is so sweet.
