Lalitaben Gandhi Obituary

Lalitaben Narshilal Gandhi, 70 years of age, passed away Monday morning on the 13th of August, 2001. She was born on the 2nd of November in 1931 in Mahuwa, a farming town in the state of Gujarat, India. She was the daughter of Chhunilal Kikabhal and Ichhaben Gandhi. She is survived by her two sons, Avrind Gandhi, M.D. of Munster, IN and Vinod Gandhi of Schaumburg, IL; her daughter, Minaxi Gajjar of Schaumburg, IL; and by her seven grandchildren, Lisa, Mark, Christina, Sheiphali, Angela, Sonali and Danny. Lalitaben was married to Narshilal Maganlal Gandhi at the age of 18. She was devoted to her husband, her children, and her religion. Lalitaben preached ethics and morals and furnished an example in living. She allowed her children to develop their own lives, be self-reliant, and have initiative. All during the young lives of her children she exhibited self-control, patience, a sense of value, respect for other personalities and yet did not neglect teaching life's values. We who knew and loved Lalitaben Gandhi have an idea of how great her loss truly is. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, the 15th of August, 2001 at Burns Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321, accompanied by Puja by Gurukul Maharaj, followed by cremation services.
