Torf, 64 years young, beloved husband and best friend of Marla, nee Yanes; son of the late Rubin and Florence Torf; devoted father of Corey Edward (Mara) Torf and the late Ryan Marc Torf; dear brother of Philip (Donna Rose) Torf; loving grandfather of Ryan Michael and Sammy Mason Torf; dear uncle of Raechel Frances, Rubin Daniel and Jordan Nicholas Torf and Ian Ari Yanes. Championship little league baseball coach. Masterful cheesecake baker. Doting pet lover. Service Friday, 10 a.m. at Chicago Jewish Funerals , 195 N. Dear Marla, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Although I never met Larry, I can tell what kind of person he was just by reading what others have written -- and knowing he was the love of your life. I had planned to come to the funeral, but my flight was Friday so I missed it. I hope all the loving thoughts everyone is expressing, and all your wonderful memories, will eventually bring you peace. My thoughts and prayers are with Larry's family and friends at this sad time. Larry was a unique and cherished person, and the world is worse with his loss. He was important to me and offered friendship and support during an especially difficult time of my life. In this sad time, it is comforting to focus on the happy memories of the past with him. Torf Family
There are no words anyone can express about the loss of Larry. I have known him since we both were 11 years old. There wasn't a finer , more kind, more considerate, more loving and caring person on this earth. He was a true FRIEND. He will be missed by all who knew him. Deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family from my entire family. There will always be a spot in my heart for Larry.
