I first knew Peggy when she rode a coach train for 36 hours to come to my wedding in Idaho, just because I was marrying the son of her best friend. The two women had gone to school together, married, watched their husbands leave for the navy, and remained friends through all that followed. Their two sons, Tom & Tom, stayed good friends. Her memory will be with us always. She displayed courage and fortitude that the rest of us would do well to emulate. She truly was a best friend to us all.

Margaret was my second mother, she was very kind and always made me feel like I was welcome, even though I stayed at her house almost constantly to hang with her great son, Thomas King. My wife and I came to love her deeply as we grew older and will carry her kindnesses with us always. Farewell, Margaret, with a fair wind and following sea.

Mrs. Elden was a loving, caring person, dedicated to her family. She has been a long time friend, and close neighbor to me.
