Marilyn Chaplin Obituary

Marilyn Chaplin entered this life May 17, 1942, and passed away January 6, 2021. Daughter of the late Sherman E. and Anna Louise Cundiff. Cherished wife of the late Wayne Chaplin. Dear sister of Sherman (Karen) Cundiff, Mardell (the late Bob) Leeper, and the late Maxine Cundiff. She will be deeply missed by her nephews Adam and Eric Cundiff their families, and many other family and friends. Marilyn was raised in Franklin Park, Il and graduated from East Leyden High School Class of 1960. She worked at M & M Mars, where she met and fell in love with Wayne. They were married in 1965. Marilyn later loved working for United Airlines for 38 years with cherished forever friends. She traveled the world but her favorite destination was Maui, Hawaii. Some of her favorite things were working in her garden, being a chef with legendary dinners, crossword puzzles and hunting in Missouri. A beautiful life came to and end...she died as she lived; everybody's friend. She was one of the kindest people on earth, brilliant, generous, grateful, passionate, strong, brave, courageous, fun, funny, and adorable. "May the memories carry you on wings of love to a tomorrow of comfort and peace." (Larry Martin) A celebration of Marilyn's life will be scheduled for a later date. I continue to have fond memories of Marilyn and Wayne. I was blessed to be connected to them and their families, even if it was long time ago.

Marilynn and Wayne always made you feel like you were a part of the family when I spent time with them. I fondly remember going out to dinner with them when I worked with Wayne. Wayne introduced me to his mother and Al at her mothers home in Elmwood Park. He introduced me and my wife Ellen to her sister Mardell and brother in-law Bob and connected us with them in Maui for dinner. Marilyn and Wayne, thank you for being a part of my life.
