My family lost my grandfather yesterday morning; he was no doubt one of the greatest men I have ever met. Hardworking and generous beyond words, a devout Catholic dedicated to service, and what most stood out to me was how much he cared for and loved his wife, my Grandma Mildred, who were faithfully married >50 years, his children, and us grandchildren. We have a very large, Irish family, and my grandpa's hard work and devotion to his family is to thank for the vast legacy he leaves behind through each and everyone one of his children and grandchildren, and through his beloved wife. R.I.P. Grandpa Michael, I'm honored to be graced with your legacy through my middle name. Written by Derek Michael Athy - grandson to Michael Athy
