I wish to extend my condolences to the entire Redding family over the loss of Michael. He was unique in so many ways. He possessed a monumental heart, incredible conviction and an unparalleled openness to loving everyone he met. He was feisty and funny, nostalgic and spiritual, vehement and vulnerable. They say we are judged by the impact we have on others and the way they make us feel. If so, Michael will surely get an A+ In Heaven, as he impacted so many. I loved him like a brother as well as a friend, and already miss him dearly.

Michael will always be remembered as the most charismatic good time Charlie ever known! Heaven has gained a great spirit and the moment he walked through the gates made heaven even that more heavenly for his presence.

My heart sank today when I got the call about Mike. I met Mike and Danny in the late '70s through Bryan Cooke. I had an instant connection with them that was solidified through many golf, Cubs, and maybe an occasional Sox game. Mike was incredibly funny and was such a great storyteller. I miss those days Mike, Danny, Bryan and I would all hang out together. My condolences to the Redding family, especially Danny, I know how close you two were. I will miss him greatly. Love you my brother!

Such sad news to hear about my friend Mike. We met at Loyola back in '75, along with Bryan Cooke, Dave Verdicho, Kevin Byrnes, and a host of others from the Northbrook crowd. We had a lot of adventures, ditching classes to go driving around, sometimes to Gilson Park, have a few beers, but always trying to find a way to make a safe re-entry from the eyes of the ever present Dean Dick Shiman. I lived on the Great Lakes Naval Base but spent a lot of time at the Redding residence on the week-ends and even worked for Mr. Redding years later at his law firm. Mike and his family were always welcoming - and willingly (maybe unknowingly) providing a place to stay on the week-ends. Between the party's, playing pool in the basement, golf, and just hanging out with so much laughter, I am going to miss Mike. I know Danny is going to miss his brother as they were inseparable in the later years. Please accept my condolences Danny, Jimmy, Aileen and the rest of the Redding clan. I am going to miss his laughter and his stories, and am proud to call him friend. He was a big part of my life growing up in those formative years and am fortunate to have known Mike and his family. I love you brother.

Michael I've been telling the story of how when you were born I was almost 8 and still remember riding my first 2 wheeler down our street shouting its a boy! At the time there were only our four sisters surrounding me and I was so happy to have a brother. ( did not of course know 2 more brothers would follow you) . You were and still are my best man !
