I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Secemesky nearly 50 years ago, and grew up with his children. Many years later, I had the honor of davening at the 8:30 minyan at Anshe Motele, where his "klop" was truly the spiritual gavel that summoned the Gates of Heaven to open. And at his funeral yesterday, I saw, heard and felt all his tangible and intangible accomplishments in those years. It was as if each day, he gave a "klop" and said, "G-d give me the strength to do whatever it takes to build my family and contribute to this world, with a focused, forward determination, the past a memory to learn from, not a burden to carry." It is not often that one sees the true selfless gift a person has impelled onto three generations, but there it was - evident to all by the words of his grandchildren. May his memory only be for a blessing for all who knew him, even if they never heard his famous and holy "klop."

On behalf of the Swift family, I send our heartfelt condolences. Jim and I are traveling in Mexico, but our thoughts and prayers are there with you. Some of my best childhood memories were created at the Secemsky house on Rockwell. I know that the joy of your memories will sustain you through this time of sorrow and you will continue to celebrate your Dad's life as a life well lived.
God Bless

On behalf of the Salomon family, we send our condolences. When a Holocaust survivor passes, the whole world is diminished.

Very sorry to read about Mr. Secemsky's passing. I never met him, but I believe that I knew his son, Solomon, many years ago when I was a cellist in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago where Sol was also a violinist (I now play with the Chicago Symphony.) My sincerest condolences to the entire family.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Secemsky, alav ha'shalom. He was a mainstay of the Anshe Motele synagogue who devoted hours to the shul without complaining or asking for help. He was always gracious and friendly and treated women in shul with as much respect as he did men. I will miss him.
May G-d comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
