Patrick Connolly Obituary

In loving memory of Dr. Patrick "Pat" Joseph Connolly, 68, who passed away in Flossmoor, IL on March 5, 2021. Beloved husband of 33 years to Sucheta "Suture"/"That lady that follows us around"; dear father of Nicholas "McGee," Manju "Manjita," and Gita "Miss G"; and proud grandfather of Francis. Born in Libertyville, IL to Dorothy (McKinney) and Charles L. "Bud" Connolly II. Survived by mother Dorothy and siblings Larry, Bob, Sheila, and Tom Connolly. Preceded by father Bud and sister Mary Pollard.

Patrick was a jack of all trades and master of many. Graduate of U of Notre Dame, U of Illinois (Chicago) Medical School, and pathologist at Michael Reese Hospital. Handyman extraordinaire, wood craftsman, avid reader and gardener, library enthusiast, guitarist, assertive grammarian ("It's 10 items or fewer"), soccer dad, brewer of kombucha and beer, beekeeper, and lifelong learner. Nature enthusiast often found outdoors, identifiable by his white shirt, wide-brimmed hat, and yellow backpack - the perfect outfit for hiking, biking, and all occasions. Remembered for devotion to his family, kindness, and generosity toward all who knew him.

What a special friend Patrick was to us. We were blessed to have known him. His passion for knowledge of his many interest were so very refreshing and we so enjoyed having conversations with him regarding them. The uniqueness that he brought Flossmoor was endearing and we know our small community was lucky to have him in it. Suchetta, Nicholas, Manju, and Gita, Patrick will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

Our love and prayers to the Connolly family. Patrick had such a kind and gentle spirit. He was so humble and soft spoken you would never know how accomplished he was.
