I was thinking about Paul and looked him up to find that he had died. My mother, Elaine Smith worked for him for many years. He was a very kind man and a fine physician. He will be missed. My best to the family.

So sorry to hear of his passing. Paul was a dear friend and colleague for many years. He was an outstanding orthopedic surgeon whose patients loved and appreciated his work. He always took such good care of the patients that I referred to him. He was highly intelligent and I loved talking about politics and world affairs with him. My sincere condolences to his family and may God comfort them among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

My sincere sympathies to all Paul's family and hopes that solace will soon replace sorrow for you all. Paul was a colleague and friend to me for over 40 years. He was a man of many facets and qualities: a stickler for perfection in the OR, a leader for the medical staff, a fierce debater on what seemed to be a never-ending range of topics, a massive intellect, a kind and caring physician, a jokester, a loyal friend. Sharing the care of patients was often a learning experience, no matter how many decades I had been in practice. Those patients knew they had a true family orthopedist who worked dlilgently on their behalf. Those of us whom he befriended knew that his smile and laugh were genuine and a glimpse into the very learned and wise man beyond the skilled surgeon. I cannot feel your grief in the same way, but I deeply feel the loss of one of the finest people I was ever privileged to know. Blessedly, all my memories of Paul are uplifting and will ever remain so.
Again, my sincere condolences to you all.
