BROTHER REGIS MORGAN

Brother Regis (Lucian Regis) Morgan, FSC, 87, died on September 5, 2010 at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook. A De La Salle Christian Brother for 69 years, he was born James Francis Morgan in Chicago, the son of Thomas and Mary (Corrigan) Morgan. He entered De La Salle Institute in Chicago in 1937, graduated from La Salle Institute in Glencoe, MO, in 1941 and then entered the novitiate of the Brothers. He professed his perpetual vows in 1948. Brother Regis earned a BS degree from St. Mary's College (now University) in Winona, MN, in 1945 and an MS degree from Saint Louis University in 1954. As an educator, he taught in Jefferson City, MO, St. Paul, MN, Amarillo, TX, and at St. Joseph H.S. in Westchester, IL, and at St. Patrick H.S. in Chicago. From 1952 to 1957 he was a professor at St. Mary's College in Winona, and he taught at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL, from 1962 to 1968 and from 1973 to 1993 when he retired. Survivors include his sister, Monica Quattrocki of Chicago; brother Matthew of St. Louis; nieces and nephews; the Christian Brothers of Lewis University in Romeoville. Visitation will be Thursday, September 9, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., at Sancta Alberta Chapel on the Lewis University campus followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL, on Friday, September 10, at 9 a.m. Memorials may be made to De La Salle Christian Brothers Retirement Fund, 7650 S.
