Hello, Morris family. My name is Phil Siegel, and Bob was wonderful to know. I knew Bob from Glencoe Rotary for many years. But Bob knew everyone in a way that was deeper than just about anyone else could do. For example, when I saw him on his 100th birthday at a Rotary event, Bob was able to not only relate back where I was living now in Arlington Heights, but still remembered the two addresses of where I lived and raised our family in Glencoe! Bob was also one of the few people left who remembered my father. My Dad was the corporation counsel for several municipalities on the North Shore, and Bob and my Dad worked together when I was just a little boy. How wonderful it was as an adult to know someone who knew my Dad when the world was a younger place.
Very truly yours,
Phil Siegel

Bob was a professional colleague who became a confidential advisor and friend over the years. We first met in 1985 when he provided great advice that prompted me to join the ICMA supplemental retirement program. He continued to patiently offer me wise employment advice in the following decades when he served as a volunteer ICMA/ILCMA range rider. More recently, his valuable advice helped me decide to volunteer as an ICMA/ILCMA senior advisor (formerly called range rider). I thanked Bob many times and am still grateful! Also, I offer a prayer for and condolences to his family. He is already missed but will never be forgotten. (See photo of Bob at the annual retired Illinois managers luncheon that he started years ago. We were celebrating his 100th birthday.)

Rest in Peace Bob. I think I met you when I was 3 or 4 years old. Your friendship with my Grandfather and our family will forever be treasured. Your support for me during over 25 years at the Glencoe Golf Club was remarkable, from my years parking carts to nearly 15 years as Golf Club Manager. I´ll never forget you.

Bob was the consummate city manager and a true professional. I am grateful to have known him, as I benefited greatly from his wisdom, experience and sincere desire to help others in the profession. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family on their loss.
