Bob and I were in the same grade at Queen of Angels Grammer School. We played in that school's band and also in some of the early bands of 1954-57. Sorry to hear he has left us. The music community will miss him. Jerry "K"rystek

Mr Sturm was my teacher at Westmont Jr High. I was in the Class of 71. It's hard to forget how he'd stick his baton in the pencil sharpener to "keep it sharp." Westmont Jr High alumni mourn your passing. Prayers and sympathies to his family. As a previous post said, he was OUR Mr Holland!

Mr. Sturm taught me how to play the clarinet back in 1977. His patience with his students was endless. He has touched the lives of so many people and leaves behind so many fond memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I was on the Board of the III Sheeters Entertainers Club with Robert. He always had a good thought or joke to share. He truly will be missed. All my thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of loss.

Mr Sturm saw something in me in 4th grade starting out as a very bad clarinet player and inspired me to play for the next 8 years. My music taught me a lot. He is our MR Holland. He impacted hundreds of aspiring musicians. Westmont mourns his loss.
