Robert A. Wenc, 86,of Algonquin, died peacefully On June 22, 2023.

Robert was born May 11, 1937 in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Sophie Wenc. He attended St. Stanislaus Kostka grammar school and went on to graduate from Crane High School. He worked as a meat cutter and was in the union for many years. As a young child he learned to swim at the YMCA and went on to be a lifeguard during the summer months, enjoyed swimming and was a strong swimmer. He always enjoyed time fishing and boating at the family summer home in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He loved a good cigar, was an avid Bears fan and spending time with his grandchildren was always a joy.

Bob is survived by his wife, Elaine, his children, Jeff (Debbie) Wenc, Maureen (Michael) Hinz, and Suzanne Green, by his five grandchildren, Matthew (Holly), Rachel, Stuart, Stephanie, and Harrison and by his two great grandchildren, Ava, and Noah. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Raymond, and Daniel and by his son-in-law, Reginald Green.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 4-7pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or The American Red Cross.
