RUBIN STEINBERG Obituary
Rubin Steinberg, age 75, of Chicago, beloved husband of Marcia, nee Mann; son of the late Louis and Tanya; loving brother of Isaac (Natalie), Jacob (Ann), Muriel (late Joseph) Perlman and the late Irving (Judith), Bernard (late Ida), Frances (late Bernard) Silverman and Harold (late Leida Berg); proud uncle; and cousin of many. Well-known artist who exhibited widely in the Chicago area. Active member of the American Jewish Artists Club and Chicago Society of Artists. Celebrated art educator of the Chicago Public Schools for 38 years. Funeral services Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the Weinstein Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette. Interment Shalom Memorial Park, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers donations to your favorite charity are appreciated. Info 847-256-5700.

Ruben took me under his wing when I was transferred to Wicker Park Elementary School. He was so kind and considerate. CPS was lucky to have such a talented artist teaching in an elementary school!!! When I remarried he gave us two things which we still value to this day: an unusual flower pot covered by pieces of unusual stones and an unframed painting symbolizing the El-trains and Riverview. He was part of our Wicker Park reunion club and came to our lunches when he could. He was an admirable man.
