We always believe n pecking order when it comes to loosing family so when tragedy strikes unexpectedly it makes the heartbreak even more difficult to bear. Sam was a really special person. She was an amazing friend and a wonderful person. I always enjoyed talking to her because we would have the best conversations. She always supported me and encouraged me to follow my passions. I could not have asked for a better co-worker or friend. She was right when she said that we were the Sunday morning dream team. Sam was one of a kind. Sam was not only just a best friend for me, she was my lovely French partner for 7 years, my Chemistry pal, especially my biggest supporter. I will never forget the time both of us sitting in the high school library talking about what major we wanted to pursue in life. She was always pouring out with so much passion about what she wanted to do in her future. She gave so much encouragement to me as I did for her. She had such a way with words that is been truly inspiring how much passion she had to give to this world.I will treasure everything she taught me from misspoken French words, to my incorrect chemical equations to even being a strong and confidant musician, I didn't know I could become.I've always loved Sam from her smile to her personality and I always will. May she rest in peace and thank you for the amazing memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and I wish you peace. RIP

Sam was in a class of mine at DePaul during our freshman year. This class was particularly intimate and my classmates and I shared many emotions and thoughts throughout the quarter. Sam constantly exhibited a tremendous desire to be there for, teach, learn from, help, and care for others. Heaven gained a young woman who brought a lot of light and happiness to people that she encountered. I, and many others, will never forget Sam.

I'm truly heartbroken to hear of Sam's passing. I met her as a little girl at Sarah Adams with an infectious smile -and left her as a beautiful soul at LZHS.
My thoughts are with her friends and family as with great loss comes great grief.
