I didn't spend as much time with Grandpa Jazwiec as some of my other cousins did when they were younger. I have vague memories of playing poker with the family at the house on Barry when I was little and of the annual football games on TV, but my clear memories of grandpa, the ones I will choose to remember him by, are from the past couple of years.

I learned to appreciate grandpa's sense of humor more as I got older. He was, actually, a pretty funny guy! I enjoyed spending our recent Easter gatherings by the house and having the egg hunts for the kids with grandma and grandpa.

I developed more of a relationship with him in my later years and I am thankful for that. He was loved much and thought about often. I am glad he is now at peace with an ending to his long battle with cancer. I believe he's with God, great grandma, and all the other dearly departed.

I am sorry my baby will not have an opportunity to meet their great grandpa. He will be missed and remembered.

I love my grandfather very much. As hard as it it to let go of his presence on Earth, I can rest assured that he has a new home in heaven. I think the world of my Grandpa. He was genuinely interested in what I had to say and what was going on in my life. I am truly greatful that during his life with cancer he was able to make the trip to Michigan for my wedding day.

I always love(d) to go to Chicago to visit may family and stay with my grandparents. Even though we only saw each other a few times a year-we caught up after a few days of living together. I know that Grandpa was good, loving person. And I could always count on him to be watching football on Thanksgiving (Go Lions!)

I also remember all of the long nights that he and Grandma would stay up late and play pinochele with my parents. Boy, did they love cards.

He taught me how to play gin rummy at a young age and I remember the tournaments we had in my parents garage (must have been summer) for a 1/4 penny a point. I think he let me win sometimes...

Grandpa, I love you and you will be missed. I wish that I had the chance to say goodbye to you and let you know how truly special you are to me. I hope to see you again one day.

My grandpa may not have been the best at showing outward love but you knew that he loved you by his actions. It wasn't until my 20s that I feel I really began a relationship with him. But the love was there. My grandpa had a knack for conversation. To me, he was very inquisitive. My favorite times with him are playing Yahtzee and poker.

Grandpa was sick for so long. I am glad he no longer has to suffer. Rest in peace, grandpa. We love you.
