Thomas Watmough Obituary

Thomas Watmough, age 92, of Schererville, Indiana and Flossmoor, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2015. Beloved father of Susan Stevens, Sandra Sullivan, grandfather of Christopher Sullivan, Jennifer (Tim) Kallen, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Eaton, Lauren Stevens, great-grandfather of Kelsey Kallen and Calista Eaton, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nora, infant daughter Patricia, brothers Edward Watmough and Ernest Watmough. Thomas was born in Manchester, England, immigrated to Calgary, Canada, and ultimately to Chicago. He was a well-renowned research metallurgist, recognized for his many outstanding contributions in his field. His work at the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute and International Harvester resulted in his being named as the inventor on eleven separate patents. In addition, he authored many books and technical papers, and received multiple awards for his work. A well-rounded man, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, carpentry and traveling. He will always be remembered for his intelligence, hard-work, and love of family. A celebration of his life will be held in the summer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

All though i never met you ,i would have loved to have meet you and your family, We came from the same tree line yours to Canada / America, mine to Australia via .Mary Ellen Watmough-Hill
who first married a Thomas Watmough in 1891 Hindley Lancashire England. your grandfather ,,
Your father Thomas was lost to our side of the family as for some reason ,his mother Mary immigrated to Australia with my grandmother Margaret Watmough-Hill and later joined by her new husband James Brown Hill snr,.
From what little i know about you, you went on to become a well liked and respected man who gave a lot back to his country.
Rest in peace ,until we meet on the other side.
