Glenn Clapp Obituary

GLENN C. CLAPP

A Memorial Service will he held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel for Glenn C. Clapp, 72, of Gridley, California. He passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 at his residence of natural causes.

He was born March 19, 1935 in Watsonville, California. He was a life long resident of Butte County having lived in Bangor and Gridley. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was stationed aboard the USS Helena. He worked many years in the construction industry and was a member of the Laborers Union Local 185 for 47 years. He was also an associate member of the First United Methodist Church in Yuba City. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, prospecting and collecting antiques. He enjoyed spending time watching his grandchildren grow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Gladys Clapp and one sister, Catherine Vines. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lu Clapp of (Gridley, CA; three daughters: Starla and husband, Gregory Williams of Bettendorf Iowa, Trula and husband Neil Hickman of Santa Cruz, CA, and Ginger and husband, Jim Walker of Visalia, CA; and one son: Scott and wife, Kathleen Clapp of Hamilton City, CA; He is also survived by one brother, Tom Clapp of Las Vegas, NV and three sisters: Rosalie Manley of Bangor, CA, Etta Handy of Marysville, CA and Linda Lindberg of Richvale, CA, and eight grandchildren.

Pastor Lois Black of the First United Methodist Church of Yuba City will officiate at the service.

Contributions to the Fremont-Rideout Hospice are suggested by the family and may be left in care of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
