Kevin Whitmire Obituary

Kevin was a man loved by very many. His memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Thermalito Grange (across from Collins & Denny Market) from 4pm to 7pm.
This will be a chance for anyone that knew him and loved him to gather together in his memory to celebrate his life. For those who are unable to attend and wish to can go to legacy.com and sign the guestbook in his honor.

My deepest sympathy to Kevin's family and friends. I only met Kevin a few months ago through mutal friends. Rarely, you come across someone as special as Kevin. He leaves you feeling, as if, you've known him forever. There was so much more he had to offer. I hope those he helped, realize the gift they've been give, not only cherish it, but pass it on, unconditionally in his memory. To his BROTHER, you will have that day to share with him again. I will always rembere our vaction with Granny and Pappy that you and me Amy and Alan went on to the big Redwoods went to the ocean and had a time to rembere with Granny and Pappy as I know you were close to them as me Kevin this should of never happen to you. Kevin, one mountain of a man. Strong in character and in will, but even the biggest mountains must fall before the forces of time and nature. The world has shaken with the fall of this mountain and will never be the same again, I weep for the world as it was but I must face the new barren landscape with resolve. It is my honor and my duty to always remind the world of the mountain that once stood here. A mountain that gave shelter to those in need, that gave hope to those who had lost ****it. A mountain that all looked up****to as rock solid and everlasting. *** A kind, generous, and despite all outward pretenses a very caring and loving mountain of a man, My brother, Kevin James Whitmire.*
As happens with brothers, Kevin and I occasionally had differing opinions on things. One of those things happened to be on the existence of God. Kevin, at least publicly, chose not to believe. I sometimes took the other side of the argument just to get under his skin. I now pray that I win this argument. If God is real, then I know that one day I will get to see my brother again. Sue, Dwain and Family. Just thought I would send my sympathy to all of you. I truly know what shock you all are in. Please remember that my prayers and love go out to all of you. Remember to talk of him often, that is what keeps Kevin with all of you forever. It's been 4 years for Chris and Heidi as of the 19th and it still seems like yesterday. But the sorrow is what you are left with when you loose someone you love.But I would rather have loved them and lost them then to never have loved them at all.May God hold you under His wings of love and protection while you go through this time of pain.

My Dear Cousins,
I spoke to Taren today and learned that it was truely your Kevin who had passed on. I am so sorry.
I wish I had gotten to know him better. My mother,Margie, loved Kevin very much. She had only wonderful things to say about him. She treasured a coffee mug that he had once given her as a gift. I have that mug now.

No one will ever be able to walk in Kevin's shoes. My baby sister will never be able to love again because she loved Kevin unconditionally and nothing will ever change her love for Kevin Whitmire will last forever. I will miss Kevin too, he had such an awesome way about him.

Sue & family,
I was so shocked to hear of your loss of Kevin. May God give you strength during this rough time in your life.I remember Kevin as a 10 year old boy climbing my apricot tree trying to get the biggest one, and the many bike crashes he had while Darin & Kevin were trying to learn to ride a big bike.

Kevin, you are going to be missed so very very much. Your warmth and kindness has touched my heart and the hearts of everyone who knew you. you where always there to help someone and do for others. A big beautiful guy with even a bigger and more beautiful heart i will miss you so much Kevin. I have good memories of you and of all the great times we shared. I'll never forget you. Love you Kev. To my beloved brother,
I only got to know you for a few years but loved every minute of it, you showed me what true strength was, and what the power of mind over matter really meant. Even though the choices you made in life were in disagreement with mine, I still looked up to you with open arms and mind. I learned a lot from you in our short time together.
