SALLY POTTS Obituary

SALLY POTTS

Sally Jean Potts, 58, was born October 15, 1952, to Jean and Phyllis Morony in Chico, California. She died Tuesday, November 9, 2010, in Manteca, California.

She was raised in Chico and attended local schools. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Services and Corrections from the University of Nevada, Reno. She worked at various law offices in the Manteca and Stockton area as a legal secretary, and retired from the Stanislaus County Counsel's Office after 28 years with the County, beginning in the County Assessor's office and working most of that time in the County Counsel's Office.

On December 28, 1974, she married James Potts of Chico. They presided in Manteca. They have enjoyed traveling numerous places, including Europe, Asia, China, Australia, New Zealand, and Peru. Sally loved to take cruises with Jim, and they have been to the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, around Cape Horn South America, and many other wonderful places.

Sally was a member of the Legal Secretaries of San Joaquin and Stanislaus County and Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

She is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Potts; sister, Wendy Fine and husband, Jack Fine of Benicia, and her two nephews, Andrew Fine of Walnut Creek and Nicholas Fine of San Diego.

Private family services will be held and interment will take place at Chico Memorial Mausoleum.

I will always remember Sally as that adorable, intense little girl who was an old soul even at a young age. With Wendy at her side, I will see Sally forever in my memory.
