VICTOR W. SHARP

Oct. 9, 1927 - June 26, 2011

Victor W. Sharp was born to Victor W. Sharp and Elizabeth (Briggs) Sharp Oct. 9, 1927 in Gerber, CA. He passed on June 26, 2011 in a rehab hospital in Redding. He was 83. Victor was raised in Durham, CA and graduated from Durham High in 1945. He joined the US Army in 1947 and served as a MP.

He became employed by Cal Trans, traveling all over CA.

In 1960, Victor married Jewell Stephens and was soon transferred to Klamath River, CA. In 1983 he retired. In 1997, his wife, Jewell died.

He became quite ill in 2007 and came to live in Gerber, CA, where his niece, Darla Smith cared for him until he went to a hospital in Redding.

Victor is survived by his sister, Verla Warner of Durham; his nieces, Darla Smith of Gerber and Marla Smith of Anderson; a nephew, Larry Warner of Chico; and two step-children, Dixie McMasters and Jim Stephens of Yreka, CA.

Graveside Services will be in Igo, CA at the Northern California Veteran's Cemetery near Anderson, CA at 12:30 p.m. on July 14, 2011.
