Hey there, Granddaddy,
Hard to believe it's been 15 years.
I still think about you a lot.
I miss you a lot.
It's funny to think that even though it's been so long I still talk about you like you're still here.
I hope wherever you are that it makes you smile to think that I tell your stories to people. Just the other day someone I know mentioned loving M.A.S.H. and I was halfway through telling stories about how we used to watch the show with you as snot nosed kids sitting on the floor complaining and begging to watch cartoons before I realized what I was doing.
I hope you know you are a large reason of where and who I am today.
There are times where I sit back and wish so deeply to talk to you again. I miss your voice, I miss your sense of humor, I miss your cooking, I miss the habits you had, the way you grilled, I miss the way you'd take care of the yard, I miss the giant work room you had that you used to let me play in.
As a kid I didn't know what I had, having a granddad like you.
I miss you so very much.
I love you.
Joshalynn.

Grandpa Duane,
We were so lucky to have you in our lives. You taught me to love beer battered catfish, helped me learn how to draw, and showed me that a person can be lucky enough to have more than one wonderful grandpa in their lifetime. I am so glad to have known you. I love you, Grandpa.

Grandaddy, I know that most people are sad when a loved on dies, but I know that you are no longer in pain anymore, and that makes me happy.I remember all the times you were there for our family, watching over us and making sure that we had what we needed. As long as we have our memories I know that truly, you will live inside of us forever. I hope that somewhere in heaven you are watching out for all of us, keeping us safe. I love you and hope that on the great lake that is heaven, you catch a fish for me.

Your eyes grew heavy,
your breath drew short,
yet in those hours you knew the truth, you saw the light flash before your eyes,
beautifully haunted memories swam to your vision,
a gun shot,
the warmth of a child in your arms,
the words your lover whispered to you in your youth,
the pit pat of the grandchildrens feet,
you weren't worried that you were going, you didn't care what you left behind, you were happy as your eyes drifted shut.
We your children, your ever lasting legacy, one day we'll find you' we all know it's true, one day we'll staand true just as you, 'till then we'll begin our lagacy that ultimately continues yours.
The Craddock line continues though the name will change I love you Granddaddy, I always will, until we meet again your loving granddaughter,

God looked around his garden,
And found an empty space.
Then he looked down upon this Earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He Only Takes The BEST......
Rest in peace Mr.Duane

Daddy, as much as I miss you in the flesh words just couldn't compare to the rest. I'm happy your now above me looking down to help cover me. When I need u the most, all I have to do is just hail up my glass for another toast. Acting as you were still here, but knowing your better your spirit is near. Loving you forever as do, I kind of feel better knowing too...now it isn't forever it is for eternity with you. Love you daddy as always now you have a much bigger job today... that would be to look after us... all the people you've left here to stay!
