1931 - 2021

WILMA ALLER ZICKER Wilma Aller Zicker's life can be best described as an Apple Orchard in full bloom and soon to share fruit graciously to all. She came into this world sharing. Wilma was Born on March 8, 1931 in Yakima Washington on an Apple Farm, along with her twin sister Harriet. The family musically encouraged, Wilma began playing violin at the age of 5, and mastered the cello by the time she was a senior in high school. The cello was her beloved instrument throughout life. Always active in community orchestras and theatre productions. Always willing to teach and pass on the craft of playing to those willing. When she could play no more, she donated her lifelong instrument/friend to be shared to the very college she attended: Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. While attending Willamette University she majored in botany and enjoyed the many outdoor activities it provided. She furthered her studies and moved to Madison Wisconsin to attain a Master's in Botany. She met Eldon Zicker, fell in love, got married and had 5 children: Bill, John, Steve, Jim, and Susie. They applied the principles they had learned growing up in raising their family, and all of the children have achieved success in their own interests. Steve and his wife Pam graced Wilma with five grandchildren. Wilma had always enjoyed passing on her knowledge to others. Volunteering for Den mother for Girl and Cub Scouts. Along with her career of 16 years at Chico Unified School District. To assisting her daughter, a teacher for 14 years in individual reading programs. Teaching interactive classes and seminaries on quilting was her passion later in life. July 20, 2021; Wilma passed peacefully at home while surrounded by loving family. She will be missed by all in her community especially those closest to her, her family. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Willamette University or the Salem Pops Orchestra.
