Leroy Garner Obituary

Leroy Edward Garner, who passed away from COVID-19, was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Jane Dryden Garner; his beloved sons, David Lee, Leroy Edward Jr., and Nathan Glen Garner; and his siblings Francis Garner and Elizabeth Olson. Leroy had a great passion for genealogy and we can imagine his great joy to finally meet with his family and ancestors. Leroy's journey on this Earth of 82 years began June 24, 1938, in Moran, Kan., and concluded on Dec. 20, 2020, in Pueblo. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Vicky Gwen; his brother, Lonnie Garner; his sister, Mary Jane Addington; his children, Debbie Lynn Garner, Christy Kay Rasco, Aaron Glen (Heidi) Gar-ner, Jared Lee Garner, Johanna Gwendolyn (John) Bennion and Jeremiah Matthew (Michelle) Gar-ne,; plus 24 grandchil-dren and five great- grandchildren. Leroy served in the Army as a medic in Lebanon and Germany. He worked at the Pueblo Steel Mill for 58 years. While on strikefor five years, he became a certified chef. He had a passion for gardening and diligently studied and successfully became a certified Master Gardner. He became known as "Leroy the Friendly Tree Trimmer" and "The Tree Doctor." Leroy worked very hard and unselfishly gave to his family. He loved his children and sharing their talents with the world. He was so proud of his family and will be greatly missed by his wife and family until we meet again. For online condolences, visit imperialfunerals.com.
