Herbert Colburn Obituary

Herbert "Herb" Colburn, Jr.

CLARKSBURG: Herbert "Herb" Colburn, Jr., 75, of Clarksburg, died unexpectedly on Monday July 29, 2013 at Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 18, 1938 in Ross County, the son of the late Herbert, Sr. and Emma Seymour Colburn. He married the former Deborah Wilburn on December 31, 1980 and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Sabrina (Joe Trapp) Colburn of Amanda, Leiane Case of Clarksburg, Brad (Valerie) Wilburn of Clarksburg and Heath (Heidi) Colburn of Frankfort; eight grandchildren, Ashley Kempton (Richard Browning), Kasie Redman, Braden and Garrett Wilburn, Halyn and Hadley Colburn; three great grandchildren, Caleb and Brailynn Browning and Bentley Haller; four sisters, Nellie Zimmerman of New Holland, Norma Williams of Chillicothe, JoAnn King of Frankfort and Albie Gallaugher of Clarksbur; one sister-in-law, Alberta Colburn of Clarksburg and one brother-in-law, Danny Rawlings of Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by infant twins, a step daughter, Mandy, one sister, Linda Sue Rawlings and one brother, Floyd Colburn.

Herb retired as a self employed concrete finisher. He was currently serving as a Deerfield Township Trustee, a position he has held for 28 years, he also had volunteered with the Deerfield Township Fire Department, he was a former 4-H advisor and enjoyed the time with his grandchildren working with their 4-H projects. Herb was also a livestock buyer at the Ross County Junior Fair sale each year. He and his family had been involved in harness racing for over twenty years, He was a member of the Moose Lodge 2440, Circleville, loved playing corn hole and watching his grandchildren's ball games.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those wishing to sign his online Book of Memories may do so at www.ebrightfuneralhome.com

One of the nicest guy ive ever met. He was always quick to help his family and friends if asked. He was a loving husband, father,and grandpa. He always had a smile on his face and could also put one on yours. Thats the Herb that myself my family and his friends will always remember. You will always be remembered by many. Even though you've left this earth your memories will live forever here on earth and in are hearts.
