Lula Mae Williams

1921 - 2013

Lula Mae (Jennings) Williams, was born on Aug. 5, 1921, and after a selfless, tireless life, she has passed peacefully on to her final resting place on Jan. 24, 2013 at her home in Millers Crossroads. She will be embraced by the wonderful man she married on Dec. 7, 1946, John Walter Williams, who has been waiting for her for 30 years. Lula Mae's calling was to be a loving, caring mother to everyone she met. Her chosen vocation was homemaker of the family farm. Among her many talents were magnificent caretaker, cook, teacher, crafter, gardener, and listener.
She will join her parents, Joe and Mae Jennings; five brothers, Paul Jennings, Joe Jennings, James Jennings, Silas Jennings, and Jack Jennings; three sisters, Melzie Jennings, Josephine (Jennings) Henson, and Elizabeth (Jennings) Ashmore.

She will be dearly missed by beloved family and friends; five children, James Williams, Ronald (Doris) Williams, Willard (Carrie) Williams, and Mae Williams all from Millers Crossroads, and Dannice (Barbara) Williams from Westville; two granddaughters, Robin ( Ricky) Williams-Thomas and Pam Williams, both from Westville; grandson, Shaun Williams from Chattahoochee; great-granddaughter, Macey Thomas from Westville; five step granddaughters, Laura, Sheri, Jamie, Michele, and Paula; eight step great-grandchildren, Bryan, Morgan, Lee, Bo, Cody, Hanna, Chad, Rexanna, and Ashley; brother, Dave Jennings from Trussville, Ala., and three sisters, Ivalene Jennings, Melba Jennings, and Betty (Jennings) Pruitt all from Centre, Ala.
A Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Sims Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Bonifay Cemetery, Bonifay. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Sims Funeral Home Chapel.
