Robert Hayhurst Obituary

Robert R. "Bob" Hayhurst, 66, of Marianna died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Jackson Hospital. A native of Morgantown, West Virginia, Bob had resided in Jackson County for the past 27 years. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran having served during the Viet Nam Conflict. Bob retired as a computer specialist with FCI Marianna and he was a dedicated Law Enforcement Officer for 42 years, before retiring as a Deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Bob attended Christian Center Church. He was a loving husband, father, and dedicated grandfather; who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Roxie Bumgardner Hayhurst; his paternal grandparents, Roy and Roxie Hayhurst; maternal grandparents, Ray and Edith Bumgardner.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; one son, Keith Church; one daughter, Victoria Pfister and husband Stephen; four grandchildren, Forrest Church, Tiffany Church, Tyler Church and Keira Lee Pfister, all of Marianna; one great-grandson, Gaidyn Church; his parents, Russell and Ileen Hayhurst of Morgantown, West Virginia; father and mother- in-law, Charles and Patty Bennett of Canyon, West Virginia; one sister, Pam and husband, Dr. Pete Pandolfi of Manassas, Virginia. two sister-in-laws; JoAn Sinclair and husband, John of Fort White, Florida and Jackie Stokes of Davenport, Florida; three brother-in-laws, Charles Bennett and wife, Judy of Moatsville, West Virginia, Christopher Bennett and wife, Crystal of Morgantown, West Virginia, John Copeland and wife Ashley of Crawfordville, Florida; six nieces, Leigh Helms, Joelene Sinclair, McKenzie Bennett, Katelyn Bennett Christy Acree and Robin Delgado; eight nephews, John Sinclair, Jared Sinclair, Jason Bennett, Paul Pandolfi, Phillip Pandolfi, Cole Bennett, Branden Stokes and Bradley Stokes.
A service of remembrance was at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Christian Center Church with the Rev. Jack Hollis officiating. Memorization will be by cremation with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The Family received friends from 6 p.m. until service time at Christian Center Church. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the ER and ICU Staff of Jackson Hospital, Dr. Krishna, Dr. Gay, and Dr. Steven Spence.
