Delton Don Giedd

Delton Don Giedd, 89, went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2024, at Mayo Clinic, surrounded by many loved ones. Delton, known to most as "Bunny", was born on December 18, 1934 in Bloomer, WI to Ernest and Madonna (Bleskacek) Giedd. He married his beloved wife, Debra (Mantik) Giedd on November 12, 1988 in Eau Claire, WI.

Bunny had many hobbies and passions throughout his life, such as raising, breaking and showing horses, racing snowmobiles with the Arctic Cat Honkers, and skiing. He had a love of canoeing, enjoying countless canoe trips with friends and family over the years. In his retirement, Bunny loved spending time with his grandchildren, as well as being dedicated to making his lawn and garden the envy of the neighborhood. He loved attending church and all the friendships made because of it.

Bunny served as an electrician aboard the USS George and USS Buck during the Korean War from 1953 to 1957. He worked as an electrician at Uniroyal/Goodrich from 1958 up until the plant closure in 1992.

Bunny is survived by his four children Ross Giedd (Lyndon Station), Robin Patrow (Lyndon Station), Jodi (Kevin) Link (Eau Claire) and Jamie Hazen (Eugene); His eight grandchildren Kyle (Valerie) Giedd, Michael (Kelly) Giedd, Kayla (Stephen) Schick, Scott (Aurora) Link, Coty (Caitlin) Link, Jacob Hazen, Jessie Hazen, and Adam Conant; His siblings Lynda Giedd (California) and Michel Giedd (Elk Mound), 12 great-grandchildren and many cousins.

Bunny is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Giedd; parents: Ernest and Madonna Giedd; siblings: Carol Millen, Bonnie Giedd, Betty Giedd, Steven Giedd, and Donna Davey; and grandchildren: Tricia Giedd and Christian Tom.

All services will take place at Grace Baptist Church, 11591 17th Ave., Chippewa Falls, WI 54729. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 PM on Friday, February 9th, 2024, with a time of remembrance from 6-7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, February 10th from 10:00 AM until the start of the funeral at 11:00 AM, with lunch to follow. Pastor Bruce will officiate.

A private Burial of both Delton and Debra will take place Monday, February 12th, at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.

For memorial contributions, the family has requested donations be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Flowers will be provided by Christensen Florists in Chippewa Falls.
