Frank Dummer Obituary

Frank Scheibe Dummer, age 88, of Elk Mound, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the Area Nursing Home in Colfax, with hospice.

Frank was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Eau Claire to Otto and Emma (Scheibe) Dummer. He was raised in the Elk Mound area and graduated from Elk Mound High School.

On Aug. 1, 1942, Frank married Marion Dahl. They farmed in the townships of Elk Mound and Spring Brook for many years.

Frank served on the Spring Brook town board and fire board and various church boards for many years. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Master Farmers and Dunn County Farm Bureau.

Frank had a lifelong love of farming and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing dart ball, watching his sons and grandchildren play sports and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marion Dummer; two sons, Frank (Dianne) Dummer of Boyceville and David W. (Lynn) Dummer of Elk Mound; eight grandchildren, Frank's children Julie (Chris) Babbitt, Tom (Kelly) Dummer, Steve Dummer and Jackie Dummer, and David's children, David C. (Stacy) Dummer, Lisa (Ben) Percy, Lori (Mike) Brenner and Daren (Jamie) Dummer; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jake Dummer, Chloe Dummer and Connor Percy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin grandsons, James and John Dummer; and a great-granddaughter, Claire Dummer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Elk Mound with Rev. Margaret DeMaris officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the township of Elk Mound, Dunn County.

Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Evergreen Cemetery and Trinity United Methodist Church or charity of donor's choice.
