Steven Dummer Obituary
In his earlier years, Steve enjoyed playing softball and then the best part was the follow up at the Caddyshack in Rochelle with a cold Old Style. He was an avid Bears and Cubs fan. He enjoyed bowling and loved his truck, but what was most important to Steve was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Leroy; mother-in-law, Peggy Mitchusson; niece, Holly Schier and special uncle, Ronald "Beeb" Coffman.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy of Rochelle; six children: Nathan (Laura) Lauzon of Dixon, IL, Mande (Matt Leal) Dummer of Rockfalls, IL, Stevie (Dani Kramer) Dummer, Jr., Katie (Andrew) Nicol, Nick Person and Jeremy Person all of Rochelle; his mother, Jackie Dummer of Rochelle; two brothers: Randy (Sarah) Dummer of Davis Junction, IL and Tom Dummer of Rochelle; sister, Beth (Allan) Kvool of Ashton, IL; 15 grandchildren: Braden, Emma, Joel, Landyn, Parker, Tucker, Dalanie, Hailey, Caiden, Madi, Dawson, Avery, Layla, Timmy and Nicky and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Please wear your favorite Chicago sports team apparel to the visitation (Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls). Graveside service held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, October 17, at Trinity Memory Gardens with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with the funeral services. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
