BLOOMER -- Herbert F. Bungartz, 83, of Bloomer, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
He was born May 4, 1919, in Bloomer to Frank and Agnes (Crank) Bungartz.
Herbert married Jeanette Schoenbauer - Erickson on Sept. 8, 1990, at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, Eau Claire. He worked for Chippewa County Hwy. Dept., hauled livestock for Bushendorf's and Peter's Meats. He was an over the road truck driver for Schneider Transport. After his retirement he enjoyed doing dealer trades for Southworth Chevrolet.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Eagles Club.
He is survived by: his wife, Jeanette Bungartz of Bloomer; sons, Frank (Cheryl Cigan) Bungartz of Chippewa Falls, Daniel (Nancy) Bungartz of Eau Claire, David (Rhonda) Bungartz of Chippewa Falls, and Michael (Kari Johnson) Bungartz of Bloomer; brother, Robert (Klara) Bungartz of Bloomer; sister, Cecilia Jenneman of Bloomer; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; nine stepdaughters; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, LaVerne (Reischel) Bungartz; his second wife, Margaret (Ziebell) Bungartz; and one son, Fredrick Bungartz.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 24, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Bloomer, with Father James Arthur officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Schriver Funeral Chapel, Bloomer, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. Christian Wake service.
