Iola J. Price (Kleusch), 95, passed away June 2, 2016, at the Wissota Health Care Center, Chippewa Falls. Iola had been a resident there for less than a year.
Iola was born to Peter and Theresa Kleusch Sept. 27, 1920, and has been a lifelong resident of Chippewa Falls. Iola has been a member of Holy Ghost Parish all of her life. Iola's calm demeanor and soft spoken voice was a pleasure to anyone she met.
In Iola's later years, she enjoyed bus trip vacations to Florida, scoring the best deals at local thrift sales and tending her flower garden. Iola's green thumb with flowers was the envy of many. Iola was especially fond of her cats and enjoyed going to bingo early to pick out the luckiest cards.
Iola is survived by her four children, Stephen of Crystal, Minn., Michael (Suzanne) of Delmar, Calif., Richard (Colleen Connell) of Chippewa Falls, and Marilyn (Kenneth) Kramer of Rochester Hills, Mich.; one sister, Florence Boyle of Eau Claire; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and also her beloved cat, Mootsie.
Iola was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Theresa Kleusch; her husband, Joseph E. Price; and siblings, Roman, Agnes, Genevieve and Bernadette.
Iola's family would like to extend a special thank you to dear friend and neighbor, Steve Smith and Rita Meyers; also to third floor north RN, Kim. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers, in Iola's memory to the Chippewa County Humane Society.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Justin Kizewski will be celebrant of the Funeral Mass. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 12, and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Monday, at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The ladies of Holy Ghost will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m. both on Sunday at the funeral home.
