Jacob Skaw, 18, of New Auburn, passed away on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Asuncion, Paraguay on April 18, 1994. He was lovingly adopted by Judy Skaw and the Skaw family in 1995. Jacob lived with his mother Judy, sister Alex, and grandparents Edmund and Kathryn at the Skaw Family Farm in New Auburn.
Jacob was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and a senior at Bloomer High School. He was actively involved with Snow Club, FFA, and the AG Co-Op Work Program, and was employed part-time at A-1 Excavating in Bloomer. Operating heavy equipment was a passion of Jacob's.
Jacob's work ethic was to be commended and it was a rare sight to see him relaxing. He felt great pride and fulfillment knowing that people welcomed his helping hands. In his free time he enjoyed the thrills of hunting, wake boarding, dirt biking and four-wheeling. When Jacob had a twinkle in his big brown eyes we knew he was up to something.
He is survived by a large and loving family: his mother Judy, sister Alex and grandmother Kathryn, all of New Auburn; aAunts and uncles Barbara and Dave Teslaw and Beverly and Greg Martin of Eau Claire, Jack and Em Skaw, David and Nancy Skaw and Randy Skaw of New Auburn, Cindy Skaw of Bloomer and Debbie Davis of Chetek; 25 cousins who loved and adored him like a brother; good friend and mentor Father James Arthur; and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Edmund Skaw.
