CADOTT – Julian W. Slowiak, age 80, of Cadott, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire surrounded by loved ones.
Julian was born on Jan. 9, 1929 in Stanley, the son of John and Mary (Leja) Slowiak.
He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. On May 28, 1955 he married Delores Mamayek in Thorp.
Julian was employed for many years at Globe Industries in Cornell, retiring in 1995.
He enjoyed playing cards, watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with family.
Julian is survived by: his wife, Delores of Cadott; daughters, Nancy (Jim) Mlsna of Cadott, Cindy Slowiak of Minneapolis, Carol (Dan) Zabel of Eau Claire, Deborah (Carmine) Esposito of Glaston Bury, Conn.; sons: Greg (Tamara) Slowiak, Chippewa Falls and Gary (Sandy) Slowiak of Minneapolis; a brother, Joseph (Claudette) Slowiak of Arizona; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Abigail) Mlsna, Jacob (Hilary) Mlsna, Zachary Slowiak, Jonah Zabel, Juliana Esposito, Larisa Esposito, Joshua Slowiak, Alexander Slowiak and Tate Slowiak; and one great grandson, William Mlsna.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott with Father Donald Bauer officiating. Cremation will follow the services with burial of Cremains at St. Rose Cemetery at a later date.
Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott with a 7 p.m. Vigil Prayer service.
